Tipperary Co-op is a major manufacturer and exporter of butter. Our butter manufacturing facilities are among the most modern in Europe, capable of manufacturing unsalted, lactic (using the Nizo method), salted and unsalted sweet-cream butter to the most exacting quality standards in a variety of packaging options.
The majority of Tipperary Co-operatives production is sold to the consumer market across Europe under the Irish Dairy Board’s Kerrygold Brand.
Unsalted Lactic Butter
This is characterized by a fresh Lactic flavor and is a typical continental European Butter. It is produced to the Nizo method from fresh pasteurized cream and Lactic cultures. Lactic butter is ideal for use as a table butter, in food ingredients and in confectionery.
Unsalted Butter
This is characterised by a fresh flavour and is a typical Continental European Butter. It is produced from fresh pasteurized cream. Unsalted butter is ideal for use as a table butter, in food ingredients and in confectionery.
Salted Butter
This is also characterised by a fresh flavour and is a typical Continental European Butter. It is produced from fresh pasteurized cream with the addition of salt. Salted butter is ideal for use as a table butter, in food ingredient and in confectionery.
Sea-Salted Butter
Sea-salted butter is a speciality product produced using the finest grades of sea salt. Approximately 2% sea salt is added to the freshly churned cream during the butter making process. This is a truly unique product produced to the highest standards.
Low-Salt Butter
Low-salt butter is also produced for customers who require a low sodium product. Approximately 1.25% salt is added to the freshly churned cream during the butter making process.

Cream
Our fresh cream is produced to the highest microbial and chemical quality from the separation of fat from our fresh full fat milk. It is a free flowing product with a uniform texture. It has a clean natural flavour with exceptional stability and it is an extremely versatile food ingredient, with a wide variety of applications.
It is available in bulk (1000 Litres), single use containers and consumer packs.
